8600B Spare Spool 1895 USD

This is a rare find: a never used spool for an 8600B in right-hand wind. The largest size of the Charlton Reels lineup, the 8600B was a favorite at first of off offshore and tarpon fisherman before being discovered by Spey fisherman.

8550C, Spey Spool, Spare Spool Only LH 1995 USD

These spools were, by far, produced in the lowest numbers of the four available for the 8550C. It has a small arbor to hold the largest of Spey lines along with the requisite backing, and second to the 8600B an 8550C with this spool has the largest capacity of any Charlton reel.

8550C Bonefish Spool, Spool only 900 USD

This spool, while produced in the largest quantities of all the available spools for the 8550C, was ahead of its time. The handle placement on the interior of the spool face created a multiplying effect as the angler retrieved line

8550C Tarpon Spool LH 3750 USD

This is a great example of the popular 4.5-inch 8550C reel, featuring the mid-arbor tarpon spool. Of the four spools made for the 8550C frame, this one would have perhaps the largest number of applications.

8550C Bonefish Spool LH 3200 USD

Another used but well-maintained 8550C, this one featuring the bonefish spool. Perhaps too ahead of its time when it was first introduced, this spool and frame combination may actually be the best bonefish reel ever produced.

8450C 7/8 Spool, with a Spare Spool Price: 2200 USD

The 8450 was the most popular of the Charlton reels built for trout. The 8350 was small (3” in diameter), perhaps most suited for rod weights 1-4, and the Signature Series 8400’s were slightly heavy for a trout-weight setup.

Seamaster Set, Direct Drive: Mark I, Mark II, Mark III, Mark IIIW, Mark IV Price on Request

As a set, these reels represent the entire line of Seamaster “Mark” reels, all in direct drive. All are lightly use. All have stainless pillars except for the Mark IIIW

8500 1.2, cork drag, original box and papers 2500 USD

This reel is a great example of an early Charlton Signature Series that was produced before the shift to carbon fibre drag material. It’s been used a handful of times in fresh water

Signature Series 8600B, matte finish, with Judy Charlton’s signature $6495

Early on, Charlton Outdoor Technologies, Inc. offered the Thin-Line series of reels in a matte finish. The Thinn-Line Elite were made with a combination of matte and gloss finish, and the Signature Series (that became, along with the 8350C and 8450C, the heart of the Charlton line) were made with a gloss finish.

Thinn Line Elite 8500 .8 $3495

The .8 version of the 1.2 listed above, this reel features a very early serial number. A rare example of a Thinn Line Elite reel, it features a cork drag and a ¼ inch drive. The reel is in beautiful condition and ships with its original zippered case from 1994.

Thinn Line Elite 8500 1.2 $4495

The Thinn Line and Thinn Line Elite reels were internally the same as the Signature Series, though externally they were slightly different. The major difference was the size of the drag knob in the Thinn Line and Thinn Line Elite series, smaller than the Signature Series drag but still maintaining the 360-degree rotation that all Charltons were known for.

Elite Series 8500 1.2 ON REQUEST

The Elite series reels were produced concurrently, though briefly, with the Thinn-line Elite Series reels. The predecessor the Signature Series, their run was brief and featured a beautiful matte finish as standard.

Signature Series 8400 1.6, Matte Finish, Two Handles, No Logo 6995 USD

There are very few reels that come across our desk that we haven’t seen before. One of these is this beautiful 8400 1.6 in a rare satin-matte finish. Made without the Charlton crest that adorned all reels except those that bore the signature of the buyer, the effect is elegant and understated on such a rare size and finish.

Another recent addition to the our Charlon offerings, this reel needs no introduction. Featuring the popular 1-5 spool, this reel is ready for any light freshwater use on rods from 1-6 weights.

Seamaster Tarpon, RH, Anti-Reverse – Used 1000 USD

As an historical piece of tarpon fishing tackle, this reel has few peers. In the golden age of tarpon fishing, the satin finish of the Seamaster reels fits right in. This is a solid example, and while it has been used its condition is great considering its age.

Seamaster Tarpon, RH, Anti-Reverse – light Use 1300 USD

The second of the pair of these reels that we are offering for sale, this is a beautiful example of the Seamaster Anti-reverse Tarpon reel. It’s in near-perfect condition, and it’s quite likely only been fished a few times—if at all.
