Judy Charlton’s SST, an 8500 1.6. This reel was the tenth titanium made, and Jack made it especially for Judy. The custom leather case bears Judy Charlton’s name. The reel itself features the Charlton crest on the drag knob.

This is the first Signature Series Titanium reel ever produced, and Jack Charlton engraved his own signature on the drag knob and filled it with 18k gold—standard for all signatures applied to the titanium models. The reel has never been fished, and is in pristine condition.

A very rare spool, looking for a home. We are hoping that someone who uses their 8500 1.6 might purchase this spare spool to use with or replace one that is being used. The price reflects our desire to have this in the hands of someone still fishing their 1.6.

The Elite Series was made to be a more affordable option instead of the Signature Series, and the two were produced at the same time. Most buyers, however, were not deterred by the slightly higher price for the Signature Series and as such the Elite Series was produced in very small quantities.

A very early 8400 .8, and one of the few reels in Jack and Judy’s collection of reels that is set up for left-hand wind. A perfect example of an unused 8400 .8 with the original cork drag.

The 8400 .8 was produced in low numbers, and the 1.2 version of this reel was even rarer; perhaps only the 8400 1.6 was manufactured in lower quantities.

The first 8350C produced, after early prototypes, was this reel. It features the rare matte finish discussed above, and as such is doubly rare example of Charlton history. The 8350 was a very popular size, and this one comes with both the 1-5 and the 1-2 spools.

Another example of the matte finish, this time on the 8550C with both the offshore and the Spey spools. These two spools are the rarest and most sought after of the spools for the 8550C frame, and as a set they represent a unique example of a Charlton frame/spool set that was only produced in this finish and configuration once.

Early on, Charlton Outdoor Technologies, Inc. offered the Thin-Line series of reels in a matte finish. The Thinn-Line Elite were made with a combination of matte and gloss finish, and the Signature Series (that became, along with the 8350C and 8450C, the heart of the Charlton line) were made with a gloss finish.
