Current conditions, a first, next week

Currently the fishing is great, though the wind has picked up and is making it difficult. Increased wind, however, means that the permit are less fussy–Dr. Wayne Holley, guided by Joel Dickey, capitalized on this yesterday when he caught his first permit:

Obviously well done.
I am scheduled to fish with Joe in the park for the six on both Tuesday and Wednesday, and on Thursday I leave for NYC and VT. I’ve added some fishing in my trip, and the following Monday and Tuesday I’m headed out with Paul Dixon to catch some striped bass, possibly even throwing a little 6 lb at them just for fun. Good friends Scott Bennett and David Nelson will each join me for one of the days. Both these guys are anglers of the finest kind, and I look forward to seeing Paul Dixon, one of my favorite people to fish with.
More to come after the park, and hopefully we’ll have something to report. I will upload reports from the Montauk trip when I’m up there.

Regards,

ncl
