Flats conditions
At the risk of sounding repetitive, the flats fishing continues to be amazing. Tarpon, bonefish, and permit are here en masse along with plenty of jacks, sharks, and barracuda. Last night before bed I walked down to a few local piers, and hooked about a dozen small tarpon before I went home and slept soundly. What an amazing place.
A note about the daytime fishing for tarpon: they’re being tough. Ordinarily, early season tarpon have been without pressure and are easier to feed–this does not seem to be the case. Still and yet anglers are getting it done, and if anyone needs any help with fly selection or a shoulder to lean on after a tough day on the water you know where to find us.
Here’s to the fish that make it all worthwhile.
Best,
