The Angling Company would like to congratulate Captain Scott Collins and Dr. Greg Smith on their victory in the 2012 March Merkin tournament. Scott and Greg caught a fish on day one, and then essentially won the tournament on day 2 when they released three permit. If you don’t have respect for this, something’s wrong.
Day 3 was cloudy and windy, and no teams posted a fish on the last day.
Runner-up was Captain Scott Irvine and Rick Hirsch, and second runner-up was 2011 grand champions Captain Don Gable and Mike Dawes. Much respect to all of the teams, especially those mentioned here that took far less than ideal conditions and made them work.
