This is a great example of the popular 4.5-inch 8550C reel, featuring the mid-arbor tarpon spool. Of the four spools made for the 8550C frame, this one would have perhaps the largest number of applications. It doesn’t have the large arbor or the interior handle location of the bonefish spool, nor the tiny arbor and cooling fins of the offshore spool. It also is not as rare, and therefore not as expensive, as the Spey spool. What it has going for it is the middle of the road, and if you’re looking for an 8550C in LH to use for almost any rod weight from 8-12 this is a great opportunity to purchase one. The reel is in superb condition but has been lightly used, and the only mark of note on it is a small ding on the interior of the rim. We have tried to capture this on the photos, with success that is correlated to its size. For someone looking for a fishable reel that won’t cost what a new-in-the-box one will, this is a fantastic chance. Ships in its original green cordura pouch.
