The .8 version of the 1.2 listed above, this reel features a very early serial number. A rare example of a Thinn Line Elite reel, it features a cork drag and a ¼ inch drive. The reel is in beautiful condition and ships with its original zippered case from 1994.

The Thinn Line and Thinn Line Elite reels were internally the same as the Signature Series, though externally they were slightly different. The major difference was the size of the drag knob in the Thinn Line and Thinn Line Elite series, smaller than the Signature Series drag but still maintaining the 360-degree rotation that all Charltons were known for.

This reel was made by Jack Charlton in 1999, and he retained it due to its rarity. The reel has been lined but never fished, and is in perfect condition. The line has been removed.

Production models of the 8400 series began with SN 9000, and the serial number of this reel (8000) marks it as one of the first production prototypes. Fully functional, this was Jack’s personal 8400 .8, one of a matched set of reels that he produced for himself and Judy in 1999.

This reel was part of Jacks personal collection, and is a used reel. It is an early model cork drag reel, likely produced in 1995. The reel comes with its original pouch. If you are looking for a reel to fish, this is a perfect one.
